The big question now is whether those changes will really be tangible enough to make players see a big difference from previous iterations. The new features will be getting teamed up with something called FieldSENSE that is supposed to offer more realistic play on the digital football field.
Of course, Electronic Arts has billed several of its last few releases as having made some rather big changes and improvements to the Madden NFL franchise mode. So far, the most vocal players of that mode have made it clear that what was on offer wasn't good enough. It will be interesting to see if this year's version moves closer to satisfying them.
