  They both backpeddled and apologized if they have been called out. They do not have rights to Kap's likeness in the game but they can mention him in the song (just as they have with plenty of additional public figures in different tunes ). The simple fact that they did so 2 years in a row suggests it wasn't an innocent oversight but a genuine choice to collaborate using a essentially racist act of collusion within the NFL. I am not defending a company. I'm not saying EA is a bastion of social justice. Most people in general (not just reddit) can not see beyond black and white. Cynicism inspires outrage and outrage inspires clicks. That is why negativity floats to the top in all social media. This is a significant factor. Youtube for one has completed research, because it's a massive part of their business and they would like to know it. There has been testimony to congress about it I've watched but can't find right now. What they want is participation and the more negatively styled something is that the more people will click it as it comes up in your own recommendations.
  
  Companies don't need one to protect them, let their attorneys do that job. "Companies do not need you to defend them", but attacking businesses when they are doing the proper thing is necessary and productive?It doesn't matter whether it's for PR reasons, they're still increasing awareness for this issue and hurting no one by doing this process. Meanwhile the men and women who see this as an chance to attack are only perpetuating a negative atmosphere of continuous whining. It's not so much about"protecting businesses" but about attacking this needless negativity. So you are really only adding to the man's debate by doing exactly what he explained. They are not doing anything though. They just released a statement full of empty rhetoric. You know what doing something is? Not making another Madden game because the NFL penalized players like Kaepernick for carrying a buy mut coins madden 21 knee. That would be remarkable.
